Fire Department Almost Shut Down Reggae Sumfest night #2,
The Jamaica fire department almost discontinued the live show amids safety concerns because of overcrowding at Reggae Sumfest staging held at Catherine Hall Montego Bay ST.James. July 20,2019
The venue was jamed packed it was said during the live broadcast that this years Reggae Sumfest had the largest turn out of patrons ever.
This was because of the stellar line-up of artist that was slated to perform with the likes of Buju Banton, Berris Hammond, Dalton Harris and Romaine Virgo just to name a few.
The show had to follow through on recommendations made by the fire Department who were their on spot to ensure everyone safety was
not compromised.
The MC for the late segment of the show was veteran broadcaster Elise Kelly at around 2.50 am she told the patrons who were seated to fold up their chairs to facilitate more space so that persons can move around freely Her instructions were stern, at one point she said if the patrons did not comply with the folding of the chairs the event would be shut down by the Fire Department who were in a militant mode.
The patrons complied with Elise Kelly's request , there were also concerns about the oxygen levels at the complex because too much persons were sharing the same space that was a cause for concern.
The show went on without incident with all the artist who where schedule to perform getting their chance to entertain fans who came from all walks of life to see them.
